Mohammed Zaanoun
My name is Mohammed Al-Zanoun, a photojournalist from Gaza. I am 33 years old; I have studied at Gaza University majoring in Graphic Design. I have been working at photographing since 2006. I have worked in local and international newspapers; I received several local and international awards. I have covered the past wars on the Gaza Strip. However, I am still working as a freelance journalist.
I had a serious injury during the coverage of the 2006 Israeli invasion at Al-Shujaiyya neighborhood. That's what made me lost some parts of my face in addition to several injuries on all of my body. However, I do dare to go back to work after receiving treatment.
Since the very beginning of the Great Return of March, I do cover the whole events, in which violations against civilians, medics, and journalists continue. Although, I am still imparting humanitarian cases from the Gaza Strip.
I traveled before to several Arab countries, including UAE, Qatar, Egypt, and Jordan, where I worked at Zaatari Refugee Camp.
